UMEX GATEWAY 2.0

Through this project, UMEX S.A. will acquire two cranes (handling machines). The main purpose of this acquisition is to optimize the flow of grains and oilseeds, especially those originating from Ukraine. The investment does not represent a diversification of activity, but an increase in the company’s operating capacity, consolidating the more than 20 years of experience of Umex S.A. in this field. The cost relative to the additional capacity is 0.1298 lei/ton (excluding VAT), and the new equipment will allow more efficient handling of operated cargo volumes.

Through this acquisition, handling productivity is expected to increase by approximately 50–60%, due to the increase in the number of cranes. The new cranes will increase unloading capacity.

The main beneficiaries of this project are: producers, exporters, traders, and beneficiaries of grains/oilseeds produced in Ukraine. UMEX is a private joint-stock company, established in 1978, as an important outlet to the Black Sea for Romanian exports, especially exports of industrial equipment and oversized projects. Over the course of its activity, the range of services and operations has been diversified, and the handling of bulk products (grains and fertilizers) has become predominant, placing Umex S.A. among the most important operators in this segment.
